About Me

Katherine Hauser

I received my academic training from Columbia University’s School of Social Work where I specialized in clinical social work and provided therapy to children at a Charter School in the Bronx.

Before starting my own practice, I was part of a group practice in Highland Park, NJ, Triangle Psychotherapies and Consultation. There, I was supervised by Dr. Jeffrey Longhofer, Ph.D, LCSW, a founding psychotherapist of the practice, university professor, and author. Dr. Longhofer did his postgraduate training in child development and psychoanalysis and adult psychoanalysis at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, accredited by the American Psychoanalytic Association and at the Hanna Perkins Center. Dr. Longhofer studied and worked under Erna Furman, a student of Anna Freud.

Earlier in my career I worked as a parent educator and a child mental health specialist and consultant for families and early childhood programs where I provided group consultation to parents and teachers while simultaneously hosting therapeutic groups for their children 3-6 years old.

I am a member of the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work. Through this association I attend national and regional conferences and am connected to conferences and learning opportunities through affiliated associations.

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapy candidate with the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ). Through CPPNJ I participate in ongoing postgraduate education through formal semester courses and continued expert supervision from leading psychoanalysts in the field.

I specialize in Anxiety and Depression in both children and adults. I also specialize in parent-child work, parent consultation, and child and adolescent developmental and behavioral hurdles

Fees

My standard fee is $175 per 50 minute Session. However, I operate on a sliding scale to make therapy accessible for you. If the fee is a concern, please feel free to bring this concern to the initial phone conversation.

I am an out-of-network provider. For many, this means that you will take your invoice to your insurance company to be reimbursed for services in part or full.
